Roger Moore was a British actor who is best known for playing the lead role of James Bond in seven of the official Bond films. He was also a patron of UNICEF and a Goodwill Ambassador for the organization. Moore was born on October 14th, 1927 in Stockwell, London, England.
Moore began his career in television, appearing in a number of popular British series such as "The Saint" and "Ivanhoe". He eventually transitioned into films, appearing in a number of successful British films such as "The Sins of Rachel Cade" and "The Man Who Haunted Himself". He also acted in several American films, including "Live and Let Die" and "The Cannonball Run".
Moore's career as James Bond began in 1973 with the film "Live and Let Die". He went on to star in six more Bond films, including "The Spy Who Loved Me", "Moonraker", "For Your Eyes Only", "Octopussy", "A View to a Kill" and "The Living Daylights". He also made several guest appearances in other Bond films and voiced the character of James Bond in a video game.
In addition to his acting career, Moore was a vocal advocate for UNICEF. He was appointed a Goodwill Ambassador in 1991 and worked tirelessly to raise awareness of the plight of children around the world. He also used his fame to bring attention to animal rights and was a patron of many animal rights charities.
Moore's last film appearance was in the 2003 film "Boat Trip". He went on to appear in several television films and series, including the animated series "The Amazing Spiez".
