Autograph letter signed, one page (letter card), 5,25 x 8 inch, Figeac (France), 11.11.1944, in French, to his family doctor - concerning the health of his wife, written and signed in blue ink "Roger Martin du Gard", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Roger Martin du Gard in a chest-up portrait (altogether 11,75 x 8,25 inch), with very mild signs of wear - in nearly very fine condition.
"Cher Docteur et ami,
... dites-moi, je vous prie, en toute simplicité, ce que je vous dois pour tous les soins medicaux que vous prodiguez a ma femmme depuis un mois..."
Translated:
"Dear doctor and friend,
(...) Tell me, please, in all simplicity, what I owe you for all the medical care you have given to my wife for a month...."
