Description
Autograph letter signed, one page (postcard), 5,5 x 3,5 inch, Munich, 25.01.1884, in German, to Dr. Wyehgram in Leipzig - Heyse thanks his correspondent for interesting memories of his grandfather and an amiable poem, written and signed in dark ink "Paul Heyse" - additionally addressed verso, attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Heyse seated in a chair (altogether 11,75 x 8,25 inch), with a heavy central vertical kink (taped verso), and mild stains - in nearly fine condition.
"Meinen besten Dank, werthester Herr Dr. für die höchst interessanten Erinnerungen an meinen Großvater und das liebenswürdige Gedicht, das die Analekten begleitete, kann ich Ihnen leider nur auf dieser flüchtigen Karte aussprechen, da ich so eben erst von einer Reise zurückgekehrt, mit Geschäften u. aufgeschobener Arbeit überhäuft bin. Doch wollte ich Ihnen wenigstens mit einem Händedruck sagen, wie sehr Ihre warmen Worte mich erfreut haben.
