Elton John is an English singer-songwriter, composer, pianist, and record producer. Born in 1947, he began his music career at an early age, playing with bands and performing in pubs and clubs. He gained fame in the early 1970s with his songwriting partnership with Bernie Taupin and his first hit single, “Your Song”. Over the course of his career, Elton John has released over 30 albums and sold more than 300 million records, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time.

Elton John's first piano lessons were taken at the age of 3, and he formed his first band, Bluesology, at the age of 15. He later joined Liberty Records as a staff songwriter, and wrote songs for other artists including the Hollies and the Isley Brothers. In 1970, Elton John released his self-titled debut album, which included the hit single “Your Song”. This marked the beginning of a successful career that would span decades.

Elton John continued to release music throughout the 1970s, and in 1975 he released his fourth album, “Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy”. This album was a critical and commercial success and was the first album to ever reach number one in both the UK and the US. His other successful albums of the decade included “Rock of the Westies” and “Blue Moves”.

Elton John's career continued to grow in the 1980s, and he became a global superstar. He released hit singles such as “I'm Still Standing”, “Nikita”, and “Sacrifice”, and his albums “Too Low for Zero” and “Breaking Hearts” were both hugely successful. He also ventured into film, acting in the cult classic “The Lion King” in 1994.
