Description

Typed letter signed, 1 1/2 pages, 8 x 11,5 inch, Dessau, 5.01.1927, in German, to the Berlin gallery owner Hans Krenz - inter alia concerning Kandinsky`s lack of time and the return of his works, signed in black fountain pen "Kandinsky", with intersecting letter folds and a few small tears to the edges - in fine to very fine condition.

In parts:
"Sehr geehrter, lieber Herr Krenz,

Translated:
"Dear Mr. Krenz,
on 5-10 l.[ast] y.[ear] you congratulated me on my birthday in such a warm way and only now I can thank you and the Kestner Society. I apologize for the delay. I was also very sorry to have seen you so fleetingly in Dessau. In the crowd that was gathering at the Bauhaus at the time, it was unfortunately impossible for me to speak in more detail to those who particularly interested me. The past few months have been so incredibly moving that I haven't been able to do many things that I would have liked to do. The frenzied pace and abundance of our time has become particularly acute over this period. Only now I come to rest a little, which means I can work a lot more for myself again.
Two years ago I sent 9 lithographs and 2 etchings to the Kestner Gesellschaft at your request. Since I now have very few of these sheets left, I would be very grateful for the return of these sheets if they are not sold. /
I ask you to arrange for careful packaging and to have the shipment registered.
Best regards from my wife - your devoted - Kandinsky"
