Description
Official letter signed, one page, 8,25 x 9,25 inch, Berlin, 27.12.1885, on embossed `Reichskanzler-Amt` stationery, in German, to "Euer Excellenz" - returning a submission dated 18 December with enclosures concerning the discharge of Marine Engineering Director Beyreis from Imperial service, signed in black ink "v. Bismarck" - with administrative annotations and countersigned by an official, attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Otto von Bismarck in a chest-up portrait in uniform (altogether 16,5 x 11,75 inch), with browning, trimmed edges, and tears along the right edge - in fine to good condition.

"Eurer Excellenz beehre ich mich die geneigte Vorlage vom 18. d. M. nebst Anlagen, betreffend die Entlassung des Marine-Maschinenbau-Direktors Beyreis aus dem Reichsdienst, beifolgend ganz ergebenst zurückzusenden, nachdem ich den mitgetheilten Entwurf des bezüglichen Allerhöchsten [...] mit meiner Gegenzeichnung versehen habe.
Der Reichskanzler - v. Bismarck."
Translated:
"I have the honor to return herewith, most respectfully, the submission dated the 18th of this month - together with its enclosures - regarding the discharge of Marine Engineering Director Beyreis from Imperial service, having affixed my countersignature to the communicated draft of the corresponding Imperial decree.
The Imperial Chancellor - v. Bismarck."
