Description

Typed letter signed, one page, 8,25 x 11 inch, personal stationary, Brussels, 11.09.1919, reply letter to Mr. Filene - concerning a meeting, signed in dark ink "H. La Fontaine", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Henri La Fontaine in a chest-up portrait (altogether 16,5 x 11,75 inch), with intersecting letter folds, and scattered mild stains to the right edge - in fine condition.

"My dear Mr. Filene
I find both letters of the 4th and 6th on my return from Bern. I am happy to hear that you are sailing only the 16th and that I may have the chance of meeting you on the 14th. It is unfortunately impossible for me to reach Paris before that date. I will call on you as soon I arrive at about 5 o`clock p.m.
As to the correspondence sent out in France by the Franco-American Bureau of the Foreign Press Service, we will do the same here, but it is not likely that I will receive the answers in time to bring them with me in Paris.
With the kindest regards from Mme La Fontaine and myself - Yours very truly - H. La Fontaine"
