Autograph letter signed, two pages (both sides), 5,25 x 6,75 inch, Paris, 25.05.1931, in French, to a friendly colleague - Henri Bergson writes a letter of recommendation for a young man named Claude Lehmann, written and signed in dark ink "H. Bergson", with a horizontal letter fold and mild browning - in fine to very fine condition. Accompanied by an unsigned photograph of Bergson.

Permettez-moi de vous recommander tout spécialement, pour le concours des prix du Conservatoire (dont les premières épreuves, dites d`élimination, doivent avoir lieu après-demain), un jeune homme de nos amis pour lequel j`ai beaucoup d`estime et de sympathie. C`est M. Claude Lehmann, élève de la classe de Monsieur Georges de Roy. Tout en étant élève au Conservatoire, il a été pris par Gémier pour jouer des rôles importants de théatre classique à l`Odéon. He is Mr. Claude Lehmann, a student in Mr. Georges de Roy's class. While a student at the Conservatoire, he was chosen by Gémier to play important roles in classical plays at the Odéon.
