Document signed, one page, 8,5 x 11,5 inch, Berlin, 17.03.1851, in German, to the Royal General War Department - concerning the declaration of readiness of the Dutch engineer Jansen to enter the service of the Navy, signed in black ink "Pr. Adalbert", with browning and mild signs of wear to the edges - in fine condition.
"Dem Königlichen Departement überreiche ich in den Anlagen die mit einem hier gleichfalls beigefügten Schreiben des Marine-Kommandos eingegangene Bereitwilligkeits-Erklärung des niederländischen Ingenieurs Jansen, in den Dienst der diesseitigen Marine vorläufig auf zwei Jahre probeweise einzutreten und erlaube mir, das Gesuch des Marine-Kommandos um Beschleunigung des Reisemittels des p. Jansen ergebenst zu unterstützen."
Translated:
"Enclosed with this letter, I submit to the Royal Department the declaration of readiness, received with a letter from the Naval Command, by the Dutch engineer Jansen to enter the service of the German Navy on a trial basis for two years. I respectfully endorse the Naval Command's request for expedited travel arrangements for Mr. Jansen."

Profession:
(1811-1873) son of Prince Wilhelm of Prussia and Landgravine Marie Anna of Hesse-Homburg. He was a naval theorist and admiral. He was instrumental during the Revolutions of 1848 in founding the first unified German fleet, the Reichsflotte.
