Description
Autograph letter signed, 2 1/2 pages (on two conjoined sheets), 5,25 x 8,25 inch, Milan, 16.12.1897, in Italian, to Mr. Grünfeld - praising Frances Saville who, at the 1897 Vienna production of `La Boheme`, performed as `Mimi`, written and signed in black ink "Giacomo Puccini", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Puccini seated at a piano (altogether 11,75 x 9 inch), with faint scattered foxing, perforated to the left edge (without loss to text), and cataloguing numbers written at upper edge of first and terminal pages in blue pencil - in fine condition.
In parts (translated):
"Dear Mr. Grünfeld,
I had the beautiful photographs of that adorable creature and incomparable artist Mrs. Saville [...]"
