Typed letter with autograph lines signed, one page, 8 x 11 inch, Jena, 5.01.1916, in German, to an unnamed pastor - among other things, Eucken thanks him for his birthday wishes on his 70th birthday and announces the sending of his book ‘Geistige Strömungen der Gegenwart’, written and signed in dark ink "Rudolf Eucken", with intersecting letter folds, and mild browning - in fine condition. Accompanied by an unsigned photo.

"Ihren lieben Großvater halte ich stets in dankbarer Gesinnung, sein Bild hängt in meinem Arbeitszimmer.
Mein neues Buch (Geistige Strömungen der Gegenwart) wird Ihnen in diesen Tagen zugehen."
Further Information on the person
Profession:
(1846-1926) German philosopher. He received the 1908 Nobel Prize in Literature "in recognition of his earnest search for truth, his penetrating power of thought, his wide range of vision, and the warmth and strength in presentation with which in his numerous works he has vindicated and developed an idealistic philosophy of life", after he had been nominated by a member of the Swedish Academy.
