Description
Autograph postcard signed, one page (addressed & stamped verso), 5,75 x 4,25 inch, Zwickledt (Wernstein - Austria), 3.11.1947, in German, to gallery Otto Ralfs in Braunschweig - concerning shipping regulations in the American-occupied zone where Zwickledt was located after the war, written and signed in blue ink "Kubin", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Alfred Kubin in a half length portrait (altogether 11,75 x 8,25 inch), with mild signs of wear - in fine to very fine condition.

"Sehr geehrter Herr Ralfs
Ich muss sagen dass wir von hier nichts senden konnten. Da nur Briefe zu 20gr., ausser Postkarten [...] gesandt werden dürfen. - Einschreiben ist überhaupt verboten - selbstverständlich auch Wertangaben [...]"
Translated:
"Dear Mr. Ralfs
I have to say that we couldn't send anything from here. Since only letters of 20 grams, except postcards [...] may be sent. - Registered mail is strictly forbidden - of course, declarations of value as well [...]"
