* Am 8. Februar wurde im Odéon Alfred de Mussets Theaterstück "On ne kidine pas avec l'amour“ mit Bühnenmusik von Saint-Saëns aufgeführt.
** Im März reiste Saint-Saëns nach Italien und machte Zwischenstopps in Marseille und Monte-Carlo, wo er ein Konzert für wohltätige Zwecke gab. In Rom inszenierte er "Samson und Delilah“ im Costanzi-Theater und gab ein Konzert in der Santa Cecilia Academy, wo er als Pianist und Dirigent auftrat.
