Autograph letter signed, two pages (both sides), 5,75 x 7,5 Inch, Vienna, 14.02.1922, personal stationery, in German, to a Lady - concerning a missed meeting and his stay in Vienna, written and signed in dark ink "Wilhelm Furtwängler", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph of Wilhelm Furtwängler on stage (altogether 11,75 x 16,5 inch), with scattered mild signs of wear - in fine to very fine condition.
"[...] Ich muss Ihnen schnell einen Gruß von hier (Wien) senden, und Ihnen dazu sagen, wie sehr leid es mir getan hat, daß es letzthin nicht mehr dazu gekommen ist, daß wir uns sahen. Hoffentlich lassen Sie sich nicht abschrecken, oder?
[...] Hier ist es vor allem recht wohltuend, ein paar Tage einmal nicht in Berlin sein zu müssen."
Translated:
"[...] I must quickly send you greetings from here (Vienna) and tell you how sorry I was that we didn't manage to meet up recently after all. I hope you won't be put off, will you?
[...] It is particularly pleasant here not to have to be in Berlin for a few days."
