Autograph letter signed, one page (cardboard), 5,5 x 3 inch, personal letterhead, Woods Hole (Massachusetts), 18.07.1890, to an unnamed gentleman - Thomas Hunt Morgan thanks his correspondent for a gift, written and signed in dark ink "T.H. Morgan", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Thomas Hunt Morgan a microscope (altogether 8,25 x 11,75 inch), with mild foxing - in fine to very fine condition.
"Many thanks for your paper. I am reading it with the greatest interest. Au [?] we to see you at all this Summer in Woods Hole. If not perhaps I may see you at Newport for it is possible I may run over there for a day or so to collect Tornaria* - in August - .

* A tornaria is the planktonic larva of some species of Hemichordata such as the acorn worms. In 1891 Thomas Hunt Morgan wrote the book `The Growth and Metamorphosis of Tornaria`.
