Autograph letter signed, one page, 5,25 x 7,75 inch, `89. Rue de la Pompe - Passy 40-42` letterhead, 25.01.1927, in French, to an unnamed "Madame" - Mauriac expresses his delight at the invitation to lunch and mentions that he needs to discuss a matter with Abbé Sudre, written and signed in blue ink "Francois Mauriac", attractively mounted (removable) for display with an autograph business card and a photograph of Mauriac in a close-up portrait (altogether 11,75 x 8,25 inch), with horizontal letter folds, browning and soiling - in nearly fine condition.

Je serai très heureux de dejeuner chez vous le lendemain de ma conférence, mercredi 9 heures. Mais je pense qu`il faudrait, à ce sujet, vous entendre avec M. l`abbé Sudre. [...]"
Translated:
"Madam,
I would be very happy to have lunch with you the day after my lecture, Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. However, I think you should discuss this with Father Sudre. [...]"
