Lise Meitner Autograph

Autograph letter signed, two pages (both sides - partly pre-printed), 4,5 x 3,25 inch, (Cambridge), 28.12.1963, in German, thank-you letter to Prof. Dr. E. Lamla in Göttingen, written and signed in blue ballpoint ink "Lise Meitner", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Lise Meitner in a laboratory (altogether 8,25 x 11,75 inch), with very mild signs of wear - in nearly very fine condition. Accompanied by the original envelope.

"Lieber Professor Lamla,
Es war mir wirklich unmöglich früher für Ihr freundliches Gedenken u. die Übersendung des Hahn`schen Artikels zu danken. Ich habe ca. 200 Telegramme und Briefe bekommen, dann habe ich eine Gruppe gehabt u. momentan bin ich / in London bei einer netten Landlady, weil ich ohne Haushilfe bin. Aber ich soll noch Anfang Januar jemand bekommen. Ich hoffe, es geht Ihnen u. den Ihren sehr gut u. Sie haben Freude an der Leitung den `Naturwissenschaften`. Mir ist sehr oft die moderne Physik zu schwer, besonders die theoretische, aber ich versuche immer wieder und H. R. Frisch hilft mir dabei. 
Mit vielen guten Wünschen für ein glückliches Neues Jahr für Sie und die ganze Familie.

It was really impossible for me to thank you earlier for your kind memory and sending Hahn's article. I received around 200 telegrams and letters, then I had a group and at the moment I'm in London with a nice country lady because I don't have any house help. But I'm supposed to get someone at the beginning of January. I hope you and yours are doing very well and that you enjoy leading the “Natural Sciences”. Modern physics is often too difficult for me, especially theoretical physics, but I keep trying and H. R. Frisch helps me. With many good wishes for a happy New Year for you and the whole family.
