The original lineup included Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Peter Criss, and Ace Frehley, who took on the personas of The Starchild, The Demon, The Catman, and The Spaceman, respectively.

The band gained popularity in the mid-1970s with their energetic concerts and distinct image. KISS released their self-titled debut album in 1974, which featured hit singles like "Strutter" and "Firehouse".

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, KISS became one of the best-selling bands of all time, with albums like "Destroyer", "Love Gun", and "Dynasty" achieving both critical and commercial success.

In addition to their music, KISS is also known for their merchandising efforts, which include action figures, comic books, and a movie titled "KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park" released in 1978.
