Carl Ferdinand von Graefe Autograph

Autograph letter signed, two pages (both sides), 8,5 x 13,5 inch, `Clinicum Chrirurgicum et Ophthalmiatricum` letterhead, Berol, 10.06.1888, in German, to "Cand. med. Hoppe" - concerning the presentation of an award to his correspondent, written and signed in black ink "C. v. Graefe", with intersecting letter folds, and mild signs of wear - in fine condition. 

"Ew. Wohlgeboren haben bei der Behandlung der Kranken des Königl. Klinischen Instituts für Chirurgie und Augenheilkunde so viel Thätigkeit und Beharrlichkeit gezeigt, Sie haben zugleich so mannichfache Beweise erworbener Kenntnisse abgelegt, daß ich Ihnen als Anerkenntniß der schönen Hoffnungen, welche Sie der wissenschaftlichen wie der praktischen Cultur der Heilkunde geben, hiedurch mit Vergnügen die Prämien-Medaille der Anstalt überantworte.
   Berlin den 16ten July 1833.

Translated:
"Your lordship has shown so much activity and perseverance in the treatment of the patients of the Royal Clinical Institute of Surgery and Ophthalmology, you have at the same time given so many different proofs of acquired knowledge, that I want to thank you in recognition of the fine hopes you have of scientific as well as practical culture of medicine, hereby present with pleasure the award medal of the institute.
