He also wrote, produced, and directed the television series “The Twilight Zone” (1985-1989). He has also acted in several films, including “The ‘Burbs” (1989), “Gremlins 2: The New Batch” (1990), and “Matinee” (1993). In 2003, Dante was selected by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to serve as an honorary Oscar judge for the 2003 Academy Awards.
