Autograph letter signed, one page, 5,5 x 8 inch, `Theatre des Bouffes Parisiens` stationery, Paris, n.d., in French, to Madame Porcher* - concerning a `Battu afair`, money, and tickets, written and signed in black ink "J. Offenbach", attractively mounted (removable) for display with a photograph, shows Jacques Offenbach in a chest-up portrait (altogether 11,75 x 8,25 inch), with three horizontal letter folds and mild foxing along the lower edge - in fine condition.

In parts (translated):

"I have explained to Mr. Duhand the Battu affair, concerning the rest Battu must have spoken to you about it. Therefore I will kindly ask you to put into my account the sum of [...] and to settle at the end of the month my tickets, unless this bothers you too much, and if so I will wait [...] - J. Offenbach"

* Jean Baptiste Porcher (1792-1864) and his wife were French Theatrical Agents who used to purchase copyrights and ticket passes for their authors, later reselling them at the entrance doors of theatres.
