Accompanied by a contemporary manuscript copy of a letter from George III, dated `Queens House, December 11, 1779`, to an unidentified correspondent [Lord Aylesbury?], 1 1/2 pages, George III characterizes this letter as "this Embryo of a Negotiation ...[of] the earnest desire I have to unite my subjects in the present moment of danger, and to form a strong government out of the most able an respectable of all parties ..."
