Autograph letter signed, one page - addressed and postmarked verso, 4,5 x 5 inch, (Paris), (1897), in French, to Gaston Calmette (1858-1914, French journalist and newspaper editor of `Le Figaro`) - invitation to dinner together, written and signed by Frederic Alfred d`Erlanger in blue ink "FA d`Erlanger", with expected letter folds, two partly smeared words, and scattered mild signs of wear - in fine condition.
In parts:
"Mon cher ami
Je suis à Paris pour 24 heures et ce serait un grand plaisir pour nous si vous vouliez bien dîner avec nous ce soir à 8 heures [...]"
Translated:
"My dear friend
I am in Paris for 24 hours and it would be a great pleasure for us if you would like to have dinner with us this evening at 8 o'clock [...]"
