Williams - 143 Duncan - Key West", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Tennessee Williams in a head and shoulders pose (altogether 8,25 x 11,75 inch), right half vertically torn down - in fine to good condition.

Tennessee Williams was an American playwright who is considered one of the greatest playwrights in American history. Born Thomas Lanier Williams III on March 26, 1911, in Columbus, Mississippi, he moved with his family to St. Louis, Missouri, when he was a young child. Williams struggled with a difficult childhood, as he was bullied in school and had a strained relationship with his father.
Despite these challenges, Williams found solace in writing and began to develop his talent for storytelling at an early age. He attended the University of Missouri and studied at the Dramatic Arts School in New York City before making his mark as a playwright in the mid-1940s.
Williams is best known for his plays A Streetcar Named Desire, The Glass Menagerie, and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, which are considered classics of American theater. His work often explores themes of loneliness, desire, and the complexities of family relationships.
Throughout his career, Williams received numerous awards and accolades, including two Pulitzer Prizes for Drama and a Tony Award for Best Play. He also wrote several screenplays and adaptations of his own work for film and television.
Williams struggled with mental health issues and addiction throughout his life, which affected his work and personal relationships. He passed away on February 25, 1983, in New York City at the age of 71. Despite his struggles, Williams left behind a lasting legacy as one of the greatest playwrights of the 20th century.
His work continues to be performed and studied around the world, cementing his place in the canon of American literature and theater.
