Typed letter signed, one page, 8 x 10 inch, London, 6.01.1965, reply letter to Mr. and Mrs. Allen Clare - Sellers thanks for presents and states that "there were a million and one things to do" in Paris, signed in blue felt tip "Cheers - Peter", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Peter Sellers as Chief Inspector Clouseau (altogether 16,5 x 11,75 inch), with two horizontal letter folds and very mild signs of wear - in fine to very fine condition.
"Dear Alan and Bloom,
Thank you both very much for sending my children those beautiful presents. They were absolutely delighted by them, and Michael has been making small holes in the ice on the pond in order to use his fishing rod. So far he has not caught anything except a rather bad cold.
Bert tells me that you think I have the needle with you. You naughty man! I haven`t been in touch with you because I have not long returned from Paris, and there were a million and one things to do. I hope we will always remain the best of friends. [...]"

Peter Sellers was born in Southsea, England in 1925. His father was a clerk in the Royal Navy and his mother was a music hall performer. He was raised in a working-class home, but had an early introduction to the world of acting. He began performing with his mother at the age of seven and made his film debut in 1939.
Sellers first major success came in the 1950s when he joined the BBC's radio show The Goon Show. His unique comedy style and impressions of a variety of characters made the show a hit. He continued to work in radio, television, and film throughout the 1950s and 1960s. He earned his first Academy Award nomination for his performance in Stanley Kubrick's film Dr. Strangelove.
In the late 1960s, Sellers starred in a number of popular films, including The Party, The Magic Christian, and The Pink Panther series. He was nominated for two Academy Awards in the 1970s for his performances in Being There and The Pink Panther Strikes Again. During this period, Sellers also appeared in a number of television shows, including The Muppet Show, Saturday Night Live, and The Dick Cavett Show.
Sellers was known for his improvisational style and willingness to take risks. He was also known for his ability to mimic accents and voices, as well as for his physical comedy. He was known to be difficult to work with, but many of his co-stars and directors appreciated his talent and dedication to his work.
Sellers died of a heart attack in 1980 at the age of 54. He left behind a legacy of brilliant performances and comedic genius. He was posthumously awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1989, and was the subject of a biopic, The Life and Death of Peter Sellers, in 2004.
