Collection of four autograph letters signed, in total 5 1/2 pages (all also addressed on a conjoined sheet), in various formats, Arenenberg, Florenz, and Rome, 1831-1852, in French, letters from the family of Napoleon Bonaparte (long after his death, 1821), all are addressed to the Swiss Consul in Rome and banker Auguste Snell (consul from 1819 to 1835), with browning, some are stained, and with small tears and paper loss on the address pages - overall in nearly fine condition.
1. Jérôme Bonaparte former King of Westphalia (1784-1860), Florence, November 3, 1831, one page. Jérôme Bonaparte authorizes a Mr. Nobaglia to sell certain horses and carriages for him.
2. Hortense de Beauharnais, former Queen of Holland (1783-1837), wife of Louis Bonaparte, Arenenberg (Switzerland), November 18, 1831, two pages (both sides). reply to a letter from the Consul, presumably on the occasion of the death of her son Napoléon Louis Bonaparte, who died on March 17, 1831.
3. Louis Napoléon Bonaparte, former King of Holland (1778-1846), Florence, November 17, 1844, one page with a black border, personal notes, including information about dealing with the immense debts of his brother Jérôme.
4. Napoleon Joseph Charles Paul Bonaparte (1822-1891), son of Jérôme Bonaparte, general and politician in the Second Empire (1822-1891), Rome, March 17,
1852, 1 1/2 pages, concerning a lottery and greetings to a couple known to both of them.
