Autograph letter signed, one page, 4 x 5 inch, Paris, 9.12.1849, in French, brief letter to an unidentified correspondent - concerning two seats for an event, written and signed in dark ink "H. Berlioz", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a portrait picture of Hector Berlioz (altogether 11,75 x 8,25 inch), with mild soiling and signs of wear to the edges - in fine condition.
"mille pardon de vous ennuyer, mais ces deux places ne peuvent me servir puisque l`une est pour ma femme et que les dames ne vout pas à l`orchestre. N`y a-t-il plus d`amphithéatre ?

Translated:
"My apologies for bothering you, but these two seats are useless to me since one is for my wife and ladies don't sit in the orchestra. Is there no longer an amphitheater?
