Autograph letter signed, two pages (on two conjoined sheets), 5,25 x 8 inch, "vendredi soir"[1867], in French, to the music publisher Antoine de Choudens* - Bizet requests numerous copies of melodies from his own composition**, which he intends to distribute to Charles Gounod, among others, written and signed in black ink "Georges Bizet", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Georges Bizet in a chest-up portrait (altogether 11,75 x 8,25 inch), with mild signs of wear - in fine to very fine condition. Accompanied by an autograph letter to Bizet.

* Georges Bizet was a close friend of Antoine de Choudens, for whom he also executed works of copy and arrangements, in particular the reduction for piano and voice of Charles Gounod's opera `The Queen of Sheba`.
** These are melodies of his own composition, published in 1867 by Choudens editions: `Après l'hiver` and `Adieux de l'hôtesse arabe`, based on poems by Victor Hugo, and `Douce mer` based on a piece of verse by Alphonse de Lamartine.
