Typed letter signed, one page, 8,25 x 11 inch, `Father Flanagan`s Boys Home` letterhead, Nebraska, 4.01.1946, thank-you letter to actor and Mrs. Pat O`Brien - Edward J. Flanagan acknowledges gift of 500 $ toward the Boys Town development fund, signed in dark ink "E. J. Flanagan", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Edward J. Flanagan in a chest up portrait (altogether 16,5 x 11,75 inch), with two horizontal letter folds and very mild signs of wear to the edges - in fine to very fine condition.
In parts:
"First of all, I want to apologize for this delay in thanking you` for the very generous gift in the amount of $500.00 which you sent to us at the holidays. There are so many demands made upon my time at each holiday season that my correspondence falls sadly behind, and I have not had an opportunity until now to thank you for your generous thought of us.
I know it is needless for me to tell you that your generous contribution will be a very real help in our new expansion program which I outlined in my previous letter..."
