Más información sobre la persona
Profession:
A 1942 American romantic drama film directed by Michael Curtiz, and starring Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, and Paul Henreid. Filmed and set during World War II, it focuses on an American expatriate (Bogart) who must choose between his love for a woman (Bergman) and helping her and her husband (Henreid), a Czech resistance leader, escape from the Vichy-controlled city of Casablanca to continue his fight against the Germans.
Year of Birth: 1899
Humphrey DeForest Bogart was born on December 25, 1899 in New York City. He came from a wealthy family, but his parents' turbulent marriage and eventual divorce led to a difficult childhood for Bogart.
Bogart attended the prestigious Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, but was expelled for a number of infractions. He then joined the Navy during World War I, where he served as a coxswain on a ship that ferried troops to Europe.
After the war, Bogart moved to New York City to pursue a career in acting. He struggled at first, taking small roles in Broadway plays and working as a stage manager. It wasn't until the late 1930s that he began to gain recognition for his work on stage and in films.
Bogart's breakthrough role came in 1941 with "High Sierra," a crime drama that showcased his tough guy persona. He went on to star in a string of successful films, including "Casablanca," "The Maltese Falcon," and "The African Queen."
Bogart's personal life was just as dramatic as his onscreen roles. He was married four times, including to actress Lauren Bacall, with whom he had two children. He struggled with alcoholism and health issues throughout his life.
Humphrey Bogart passed away on January 14, 1957 from esophageal cancer. Despite his untimely death at the age of 57, he left behind a lasting legacy as one of Hollywood's most iconic actors.
