Autograph note signed, 1 1/2 pages (both sides) - on his visiting card, 4 x 2,5 inch - affixed along the upper edge to a slightly larger sheet, in French, to "Mon cher confrère" - concerning a decision by Zola's publisher Georges Charpentier (1846-1905), written and signed in dark ink "Emile Zola", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a vintage postcard photograph, shows Emile Zola in a beautiful chest-up portrait (altogether 8,25 x 11,75 inch), with mild signs of wear - in fine to very fine condition.
"Mon cher confrère, j'ai dèja parlé deux fois de vous à Charpentier, et je le ferai volontier encore, lorsque je le verrai - Agissez aussi vous-même; car, je crois vous l`avoir dit, Charpentier n`obeit guère qu`à son propre / sentiment. Il lit tout et se décide.
