Document signed, 76 pages, 8,5 x 11 inch, (Los Angeles), May 3, 1955, contract between `Twentieth Century-Fox Fillm Corporation` and Yul Brynner for `The King and I`*, signed by Yul Brynner in black felt tip and countersigned by Twentieth Century-Fox Fillm Corporation Assistant Treasurer John B. Codd in blue ballpoint ink, with punch holes to the left edge and very mild signs of wear - in fine condition. Accompanied by an unsigned photograph.
* Brynner won the Oscar for Best Actor - the only one of his career - in what would be his greatest and most memorable role as the King of Siam in the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic (1956).

Yul Brynner was a Russian-born actor, best known for his role as King Mongkut of Siam in the musical "The King and I". Born on July 11, 1920, in Vladivostok, Russia, he was the son of a Mongolian engineer and a Russian mother.
At the age of 12, Yul Brynner and his mother moved to China, where he began his career in the performing arts. He later moved to France and began working as a model before making his way to the United States to pursue acting.
Yul Brynner made his Broadway debut in 1941 and gained international fame for his portrayal of the charismatic and commanding King Mongkut in "The King and I". He won the Tony Award for Best Actor for his performance on stage and later reprised the role in the film adaptation, winning an Academy Award for Best Actor in 1956.
Throughout his career, Yul Brynner appeared in a number of films, including "The Ten Commandments", "The Magnificent Seven", and "Westworld". He was known for his distinctive bald head, which he maintained throughout his life.
Aside from his acting career, Yul Brynner was also an accomplished photographer and directed several films. He was married four times and had several children.
Yul Brynner passed away on October 10, 1985, in New York City, leaving behind a lasting legacy as one of the most talented and versatile actors of his time.
