Nadar Autograph

Autograph letter signed, one page, 8,25 x 10,75 inch, 10.05.1870, in French, to Albert de Saint-Albin (1843-1901, French playwright, journalist, and chansonnier) - concerning the recommendation of a young orphan, written and signed in black ink "Nadar", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Nadar in a half length portrait (altogether 16,5 x 11,75 inch), with a central horizontal letter fold and browning - in fine condition.

 "Vous êtes si bon, mon St. Albin, que je mets du coup pour votre éternelle protection une infortune très réelle et très honorable. Mlle. de Raban est fille de Francois Raban [1795-1870, author under the speudonym of comte de Barins] qui vient de mourir à l`hôpital Necker, laissant derrière lui quelques six cents volumes publiés...
   Elle n`a jamais quitté son père et elle a épuisé ses dernières ressources pour le soutenir.
Je l`adresse aussi à Piétri. Mais recommandez la à Madame Votre soeur et à Jubinal, car je n`ai personne du côté du ministère de l`intérieur.

"You are so kind, my St. Albin, that I am now offering, for your eternal protection, a very real and very honorable misfortune. Mademoiselle de Raban is the daughter of François Raban, who has just died at Necker Hospital, leaving behind some six hundred published volumes...
   She never left her father's side and exhausted her last resources to support him.
I am also sending her to Piétri. But please recommend her to Madame Votre, your sister, and to Jubinal, as I have no one at the Ministry of the Interior.
