Jules Massenet Autograph

Autograph letter signed, 2 1/2 pages, 4,5 x 7 inch, Paris, "Vendredi" (Friday), in French, emotional letter to his wife Louise `Ninon` Massenet (1841-1938) - concerning sadness in an apartment, written and signed in black ink, attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Jules Massenet in a chest-up portrait (altogether 11,75 x 8,25 inch), with very mild signs of age wear - in nearly very fine condition.

"J'ai retrouvé l'appartement avec toutes les tristesses sans toi; les isolements de tout ici; le mutisme des objets qui ne vivent que lorsque nous sommes les habitants réunis de ce logis.
   Tu ne sais combien /
j`aime la vie dans cet appartement ... en hiver !
   non pas qu`il y fasse trop chaud en ce moment mais j`aime le mouvement de l`hiver.
Je t`envoie ma pensée / bien chère, bien fidèle, je te vois ! ..."

Translated:
"I found the apartment without you, filled with sadness; the isolation from everything here; the silence of the objects that only come alive when we, the united inhabitants of this apartment, are together.
   You have no idea how much 
I love life in this apartment… in winter !
   Not that it's too warm now, but I love the movement of winter. 
I send you my dearest, most faithful thoughts; I see you ! ..."
