Signed clipping (probably from a letter), 4,5 x 2,5 inch (affixed on slightly larger cardboard), signed in dark ink "[...] Yours sincerely - Evelyn Wood", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Sir Evelyn Wood seated in a chair (altogether 8,25 x 11,75 inch), with mild foxing and trimmed - in fine condition.

Profession:
(1838-1919) British Army officer. After an early career in the Royal Navy, Wood joined the British Army in 1855. He served in several major conflicts including the Indian Mutiny where, as a lieutenant, he was awarded the Victoria Cross.
