Autograph letter signed, two pages (both sides), 6,25 x 8,75 inch, personal stationery `ED`, `mercredi soir` (Wednesday evening), in French, to Robert de Montesquiou (1855-1921, French aesthete, Symbolist poet, art collector and dandy) - concerning two following appointments, written and signed in blue ink "E. Duse", with intersecting letter folds, scattered mild stains and creases to the edges - in fine condition.

"Oui et merci. Je n`esperais pas vous voir ce soir et je n`etais pas seule, et j`avais ferme ma porte quand vous etes venu a mon hotel. Grand regret. Je vous attendrai donc vendredi a 6 1/4 pour aller chez elle a 6 1/2.
- Et samedi, - avec vous dans sa loge. Et chez Elle, c`est vous qui parlerez en mon nom..."
Translated:
"Yes and thank you. I did not expect to see you that evening and I was not alone, and I closed my door when you came to my hotel. Great regret. I will wait for you Friday at 6 1/4 to go to her house at 6 1/2.
