Description
Autograph letter signed, 1 1/2 pages (both sidse), 5,25 x 8,25 inch, Vienna, 19.12.1858, in German, to an unidentified lady - concerning a meeting with her correspondent, written and signed in black ink "Clara Schumann", with horizontal letter folds, and mild signs of age wear - in fine condition.
Translated:
"It became clear yesterday that I must return home even before the [Christmas] feast, and thus will leave Vienna on Tuesday. I am sincerely sorry that I am now robbed of the pleasure to spend an hour or so with you, but I hope to return next Winter, and to make it up then."
