Alphonse de Lamartine Autograph

Autograph letter signed, one page, 5,25 x 8 inch, blind-embossed stationery, St-Point, 4th of August (no year), in French, to "mon cher ami" - Alphonse de Lamartine congratulates his correspondent and writes about his current situation, written and signed in black ink "Lamartine", attractively mounted (removable) for display with a picture of Alphonse de Lamartine (altogether 11,75 x 8,25 inch), with scattered mild signs of wear - in fine to very fine condition. Accompanied by a letter signed, 3 1/2 pages (both sides), 8,25 x 10,5 inch, Paris, 29.03.1859, in French, letter of renunciation concerning the estate of Miss Martin, who had left his fortune to Lamartine - following the argument of Mrs. Cremieux, there can be no challenge to the will, although the character of the testator was judged by Ms. Lamartine as strange and exalted..., signed in black ink "Alph de Lamartine" - additionally signed by his wife "Marianna-Eliza de Lamartine", with foxing, tears/paper loss to a lower corner, and intersecting letter folds - in good condition.

"Bravo mon cher ami. [...] meilleur de jour en jour pour le pays et pour moi. J`envoie votre beau programme au Journal. Je suis dans ma montagne. Je ne vais pas à Paris avant février. Il faut travailler pour vivre et vivre pour combattre."

Translated:

"Well done my dear friend. [...] better day by day for the country and for me. I send your beautiful program to the Journal. I am in my mountain. I'm not going to Paris before February. You have to work to live and live to fight."
