Description
Autograph letter signed, one page, 7,5 x 9,25 inch, Warsaw, 1806, in French, to his sister-in-law, whom he sends a kiss on behalf of her husband, signed by Louis-Alexandre Berthier in dark ink, with intersecting letter folds, mild soiling along the right edge, and two small areas of paper loss to the lower edge - in fine condition.
In parts:
"[...] ma belle-soeur avec un baiser un nécéccaire - pour vos étrennes [...] Quant à moi je vis de privation. Je jouis par pensé; parlés-en à mon amie et qu`elle soit au moins bien assurée de ma tendresse [...]"
Translated:
"[...] my sister-in-law with a necessary kiss - for your New Year's gifts [...] As for me, I live in deprivation. I enjoy by thought; talk to my friend about it and at least be sure of my tenderness [...]"
