William James “Willie” Dixon was an American blues musician, singer, songwriter, arranger, and record producer. He was a major force in the blues, and is widely considered to be one of the most influential songwriters and record producers in the history of blues music.
Dixon was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi in 1915. He began playing the piano at the age of five and by the age of seven he was already playing professionally.
