Signed vintage matte-finish silver tone photograph, shows George Bancroft in a head and shoulders portrait (circa 1929), 8 x 10 inch - neatly mounted to a folio page removed from an album (11 x 14 inch), signed and inscribed in blue ink "To F. Lawrence Johnson - Cordial Greetings - George Bancroft", with mild signs of wear - in fine to very fine condition. The present photograph was originally included (along with thirty-six others) in a folio calf leather bound presentation album which was one of just fourteen (as far as our research indicates) that were presented to the individual members of a delegation of British journalists who visited America for a two-month tour in 1928.
