Pissarro, Camille

Autograph letter signed, two pages (both sides), 5,25 x 8,25 inch, Paris, 7.05.1891, in French, to his wife Julie Pissarro - Julie is ill, and her husband transmits to her in detail the recommendations and orders of Dr. de Bellio that he went to see on this subject, and informs her about artworks of him at an exhibition, written and signed in black ink "C. Pissaro", with light intersecting letter folds and scattered very mild signs of wear - in fine to very fine condition.

"Ma chère Julie,

(...) Parenteau m’a renouvelé l’injection au nitrate d’argent un peu plus fort, cela suit son cours cet petite opération a pour effet de me cicatriser les canaux formés par le pus et aussi pour aider le sac à se recoller en attendant qu’un nouvel abcès se forme. En ce cas il faudra que je vienne le trouver et il profitera du développement de l’abcès pour me faire une incision et oblitérer le sac. J’espère dans une huitaine pouvoir retourner à Eragny. Je retourne le voir demain pour qu`il continue les injections. J`envoie 150 F. à Lucien* produit de deux petits pastels vendus à l’exposition. J’attends une réponse pour une proposition pour mes 2 gouaches de l’exposition (...)"

Translation:
"My dear Julie,

* Lucien Pissarro (1863-1944), the oldest of seven children of Pissarro, was a landscape painter, printmaker, wood engraver and designer, and printer of fine books. Until 1890, he worked in France, but thereafter was based in Britain.
