Bill Clinton, born William Jefferson Blythe III on August 19, 1946, is an American politician who served as the 42nd President of the United States from 1993 to 2001. He was born in Hope, Arkansas, and was raised by his mother and stepfather after his father died in a car accident before he was born.

Clinton attended Georgetown University, where he majored in International Affairs, and later went on to study at Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar. He then earned his law degree from Yale Law School before entering politics.

In 1992, Clinton was elected President of the United States, defeating incumbent George H.W. Bush. During his time in office, he presided over a period of economic prosperity and signed several important pieces of legislation, including the Family and Medical Leave Act and the North American Free Trade Agreement.

However, Clinton's presidency was not without controversy, as he faced impeachment proceedings in 1998 stemming from a scandal involving his affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. Despite the scandal, Clinton remained popular with the American public and left office with high approval ratings.

After leaving the White House, Clinton founded the Clinton Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving global health, education, and economic opportunity.
