Indulgence decree signed, one page - with red wax seal of the papacy, 7,75 x 10,5 inch, Vatican, 12.10.1839, in Latin, untranslated, signed (with two autograph lines by Pope Gregory XVI) in black ink "... Gregorio PP. XVI.", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a picture of Pope Gregory XVI. seated on a chair (altogether 16,5 x 11,75 inch), with intersecting letter folds and mild foxing - in fine to very fine condition. Accompanied by an autograph letter signed by Father Vaures, two pages (both sides), 5,25 x 8,5 inch, Rome, 14.10.1839, in French, to the Marquis de Corberon - announcing to him the sending of his indulgence decree "signed by his holiness" (translated), written and signed in black ink "Vaures", with signs of age wear - in fine condition.
