Typed letter signed, one page, 7,25 x 10,25 inch, `Kyung Mu Dai` letterhead, Seoul, 24.03.1955, to cartoonist C. D. Batchelder of the Daily News - inter alia concerning `flattering cartoons` for his birthday, Korea`s unification, and `ideals for which the United States stands`, signed by Syngman Rhee (as President of Republic of Korea) in black ink "Syngman Rhee", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Rhee in a head and shoulders portrait (altogether 16,5 x 11,75 inch), with two horizontal letter folds and scattered mild signs of wear to the edges - in fine to very fine condition.
In parts: "I want to thank you personally for the flattering cartoons you drew and sent to me for my birthday anniversary … I deeply appreciate your friendship and your use of your great talents in behalf of the cause of freedom.
