Autographed letter signed, one page, 9 x 8,5 Inch, Rome, (probably 1919), in French, to actor Georges Dorival - concerning his book `La Defense de Tartuffe`, written and signed in dark ink "Max Jacob", with intersecting letter folds - in fine condition.
"Mon cher Dorival, C`est par erreur que je vous ai donne le prix de 25 f pour l`exemplaire de la Defense de Tartuffe illustre par moi. Ainsi que vous le verrez sur le bulletin de souscription, le prix est de 60 francs. J`ai annule votre commande et j`attendrai votre nouvelle adhesion pour la confirmer. Mille compliments a madame Dorival et mille amities aà vous. Votre fidele Max Jacob."
Translated: "My dear Dorival, By mistake I gave you the price of f 25 for the copy of La Défense de Tartuffe illustrated by me. As you will see on the subscription sheet, the price is 60 francs.
