Leslie Caron is a French-American actress, best known for her roles in classic Hollywood musicals. She was born on July 1, 1931 in Boulogne-sur-Seine, France. Caron started her career as a ballet dancer at a young age and trained at the Paris Opera Ballet. She gained international recognition for her role as the young French girl in the film "An American in Paris" (1951), which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.
Caron went on to star in several other successful musicals, including "Lili" (1953) and "Gigi" (1958), both of which earned her Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress. Her natural charm and talent as a dancer made her a popular leading lady in Hollywood during the 1950s and 1960s.
