Autograph letter signed, two pages (on two adjoining sheets), 5,25 x 6,75 inch, Rodaun, 19.02.(no year), in German, to Norbert Wien (secretary of the `Kunstschau`) - concerning a planned visit of the Kunstschau and seats for pantomimes, written and signed in black ink "Hofmannsthal", attractively mounted (removable) for display with a photograph, shows Hugo von Hofmannsthal in a beautiful half length portrait (altogether 11,75 x 8,25 inch), with a central horizontal letter folds - in nearly very fine condition.

"Sehr geehrter Herr,
war wegen Arbeit und Unwohlsein (horrible dictu!) noch nicht in der Kunstschau, auf die ich mich sehr freue, möchte morgen mit meiner Frau abends eigens hineinfahren /
Für die Pantomimen im Gartentheater, darf ich Sie vielmals bitten mir gütigst an der Abendcasse 2 Plätze à 4 Kr. (eventuell auch à 6) reservieren zu lassen? - erbat das Gleiche schon von Herrn Nell, denke aber daß er es vielleicht vergißt.

Translated:
"Dear Sir
Because of work and discomfort (horrible dictu! [=it is horrible I have to say this]) I still have not visited the art exhibition that I`m really looking forward to, tomorrow evening I want to go there with my wife. /
May I ask you to reserve two seats for 4 Krones (possibly 6) at the box office for the pantomimes in the garden? - I have already asked Mr. Nell, but I think he could forget it.
