Autograph letter signed, one page, 8,25 x 11 inch, personal stationery, Palermo (Italy), 2.12.1970, in German, reply letter to Mr. Temmen in Jever - concerning his professional path, written and signed in blue ballpoint ink "G. R. Treviranus", with intersecting letter fold - in nearly very fine condition.

"... Da ich erst mit 28 Jahren aus dem Marineoffiziersberuf nach dem Kriegsende 1918 ausschied und Frau und zwei Kinder zu ernähren hatte, konnte ich weder studieren noch promivieren. Aber ich wurde mit 30 Jahren dennoch Direktor der Landwirtschaftskammer für das Land Lippe mit dem Rang eines Oberregierungsrats. Man soll den Mut nicht verlieren. Es geht auch zurzeit ohne Leistungs-Zertifikat der Theorie."

Translated:
"... Since I left the naval profession after the end of the war in 1918 at the age of 28 and had to feed my wife and two children, I could neither study nor become a doctor. But at the age of 30, I became Director of the Agricultural Chamber for the Land of Lippe, with the rank of Senior Government Councilor. We should never lose courage. We could do without performance certificate of theory."
