Description

Autograph letter signed, 1 1/3 pages (both sides), Turin, 12.08.1887, to an unknown addressee - regarding a publication project. De Amicis confirms the receipt of new documents by the addresse, being, however, unable to make a precise statement about their publication ("Ho ricevuto i nuovi documenti e la ringrazio. Non saprei darle una risposta precisa riguardo alla pubblicazione") - his part of the pubblication is almost ready, but depends on the local reports, that are still missing ("...dipende dalla sollecitudine con la quale saranno mandate le relazioni locali che ancora mancano."). He states as well to have recently received some photographs of an earthquake ("fotografie dell terremoto") - probably the famous Ligurian Earthquake of February 23, 1887, that affected De Amicis himself -, most of which are artistically unsufficient ("...lasciano non poco a desiderare dal lato artistico“), written and signed in black ink, with intersecting letter folds, a paper-clip impression to the top left corner, and small tape remnants, and mild stains - in fine condition. Accompanied by the original envelope.
